JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs diagnostic vascular ultrasound procedures as outlined in policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Laboratory.
- May be cross trained into other areas of the department.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for patients in the department and provides care to these patients through assessment, observation, and documentation.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described within. Work is primarily independent.
- Operates ultrasound equipment in the production of diagnostic images in accordance with department protocols.
- Promotes a safe environment by reporting unsafe conditions and taking appropriate action to prevent accidents.
- The technologist must be attentive to patient needs during examinations and take appropriate action if necessary.
- Independent problem solving in the performance of duties with limited supervision.
- Crossed trained into EKG and some clerical duties as well.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Sonographer program.
- One to two years of experience in Sonography, but will accept a new graduate.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) thru the ARDMS or certified as a Registered Vascular
Specialist (RVS) thru CCI required.
Must obtain RVT or RVS registry within 1 year from date of hire.
BLS required.
