Our services and analysis directly impact the price paid in transactions involving companies that have or decide to implement an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Our valuation services are utilized by clients and their advisors for ESOP transaction opinions and annual valuation updates. A Valuation Analyst is a key position in the execution of our projects. A strong candidate will be eager to learn and open to feedback in order to build the unique set of skills that are required to do business valuation and write reports well. Commitment to developing writing skills is a must for this role.
Position Summary:
A Business Valuation Analyst will provide valuation analysis and transaction consulting services for clients in a vast variety of industries. An analyst will experience immediate client contact, hearing from CEOs, CFOs, and their advisors about what drives each business. Vision’s valuation analysis and transaction consulting services help to support the sale of privately held Companies across the country. A day in the life may include, but not be limited to, researching new industries, visiting client facilities, interacting with client management and their advisors, and using sophisticated financial models while preparing transaction analyses and written valuation reports.
Our Clients – Over 120 Companies, located across the County
Our team members get the opportunity to travel and visit with clients and advisors located in 30+ different states during our annual valuation process or transaction due diligence meetings. Based on workload, analysts may have the opportunity to visit locations such as:
- Honolulu, Hawaii
- San Diego, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, California
- Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, Texas
- Nashville, Tennessee
Our clients include but are not limited to: breweries, information technology, government contractors, specialty construction, retail, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, etc. The variety of industries, locations, management styles, and operating strategies, keeps our job extremely interesting and each day and project is unique.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Providing project support to Managers and Senior Analysts
- Preparing, completing, and ensuring the accuracy of financial models and sophisticated valuation analyses
- Preparing for and attending client field visits and management interviews
- Performing economic and industry research
- Writing valuation reports and presentations
Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance or Accounting
- 1-2 years of finance or accounting related experience (Prior business valuation experience not required)
- ESOP valuation experience is a plus
- Excellent analytic foundation with advanced understanding of financial statements and various valuation methodologies (DCF, LBO, comparable company analysis, etc.)
- Intermediate understanding of financial theory and general accounting issues
- Proficiency at financial modeling with Microsoft Excel
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude

- Strong attention to detail

- Open and receptive to feedback
- Demonstrated ability to manage time well while handling multiple projects
