Validation Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Follow development and validation hardware through readiness process - support setup and debugging to assure test readiness
Track and report on testing progress and issues
Develop and implement first-time capable tests for hardware development and validation
Lead diagnosis and resolution of issues that occur during setup and testing
Interact with facilities, technical leads, calibration teams, hardware release engineers, and others to improve process and test efficiency
Utilize post processing tools to assure data quality and track usefulness of data in generation of final reports
Implement standard work processes and procedures globally
Support math-based activities, migrating additional work from Road and Lab to Math (RLM) based models and data analysis
Train, mentor, and develop new engineers
Education and Training
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive engineering with engine, transmission, or drive unit knowledge
Demonstrated drive for results
Excellent planning and problem-solving skills
High level of oral and written communication skills
High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others, and ability to establish peer relationships.
Ability to prioritize work and resources, and work independently with minimal direction
Proficient with computer and data acquisition systems
Experience in data analysis to optimize testing or model results
Ability to travel as required for offsite testing (less than 15%)
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with AVL PUMA/IndiCom and ETAS INCA software
Exposure to propulsion system calibration in test and vehicle environment
2-5 years of experience with engine, transmission, or drive unit testing, calibration, or hardware development
Experience with engine dyno setup and testing
