40 hrs per week. 8 hrs per day Mon-Fri
3rd shift (11 pm- 7:30 am)
Description:
Position Purpose/Job Description: To maintain the sanitary condition of the facility and to fill in for 1 to 2 operating positions in the plant. Key Responsibility Areas (essential job functions): 1.) Routine cleaning of floors, equipment, roofs and outside grounds 2.) Specialized cleaning tasks such as bin cleanings, rebolt sifter, filter sock changes 3.) Special duties assigned by management 4.) Basic process maintenance 5.) Cross-trained in at least two different operator jobs 6.) Responsible for understanding and following all personnel and equipment safety policies; Sanitation policies; following all Business Unit policies and procedures. 7. Ascend and Descend stairs throughout the facility. 8.) Climb ladders (both step and extension) 9.) Wear required PPE. 10.) Follow verbal and written instructions (English). 11.) Communicate with peers and supervisors (English) Physical Activity : Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, vision. Working Conditions: Both inside/outside conditions may include, but are not limited too extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, hazards, atmosphere conditions. Overall Physical Activity Level Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up negligible amount of force frequently Light: Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or 10 lbs of force frequently. Medium: Exerting up to 20 – 50 lbs of force occasionally and/or 10 - 25 lbs of force frequently (anything above 50lbs will be machine lifted or a buddy lift). Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Persons in this position must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities): A.) Must be willing and able to work additional hours which may include overtime, weekends, and holidays. B.) Communication skills in English (both verbal and written). C.) Must be willing to accept accountability and work well in a team.
The main responsibility of this role is to cut/break open bags of flour varying from 2lb to 50lb into our rework system where that product can be recycled/reused for production
Accurately record and account for all products that enter the rework system and ensure that the correct destination is selected for this reworked product
Promptly and accurately report any issues with the rework system or product that they will be dealing with
Fully comply with any and all food safety and safety expectations that we hold here at the plant.
Could you provide a little background on the department and the team they will be working on?
This role will be encompassed within the warehouse department. There are 4 warehouse operators in this team + one supervisor that they will be interacting with on a daily basis.
What are some must haves on a resume that would stand out from candidates?
Previous experience in production or food production is desirably
Additionally, any experience with any sort of rework recycling system is also desirable.
What are some disqualifiers?
Only disqualifier is being physically unable to do the work required. It is quite physically intensive and requires frequent and repeating lifting of bags up to 50lb.
What is your timeline for reviewing, interviewing, and hiring a candidate?
From interview to first day of work is typically between 7 days and two weeks, depending on drug testing/background
What would a typical day look like in this role as far as workload?
A typical day for this role would be 8 hours of work with two 15 minute and one 30-minute break
The day-to-day activity is moving "cut-in” pallets over to the rework station and cutting open bags to pour into the hopper/airlock
What are the Personality/Cultural fits needed to be successful?
Ideally the candidate is younger and more extroverted in order for them to mesh well with the culture we have here. Obviously more introverted individuals are more than fine but to mesh better with our people here I would say being extroverted is a huge advantage
