Utilities / Water Engineer - Right of Way Coordinator - Gannett Fleming, Inc.

At Gannett Fleming, we're looking for a dedicated Utilities / Water Engineer to join our Houston, TX team. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in reviewing and analyzing survey documents and utility engineering drawings, providing essential technical support for our Right of Way R/W acquisition processes. Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze utility and land/site development engineering drawings and survey documents related to R/W acquisitions.
• Provide technical support and answer questions related to R/W acquisition for project teams.
• Collaborate closely with engineering staff, R/W agents, surveyors, and others to identify survey information required for easements and ensure accurate and efficient processing of survey information.
• Provide direction to surveyors and title agents, solicit proposals, and negotiate proposals with the assistance of others to deliver the title and survey work required.
• Coordinate and manage licensed surveyors to perform quality assurance on survey documents. Evaluate and verify the accuracy of survey data, bounds, and easement documents to meet standards required by the team.
• Work in an office-based setting to review incoming information from surveyors, ensuring all documents meet project requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of status reports and documentation related to R/W projects.
• Maintain strong communication with project managers and R/W agents to provide insights and recommendations based on survey and engineering data.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 5+ in civil engineering, with a focus on R/W acquisition and/or surveying. (Not sure where the 8 years comes from?)
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles, easement documents, and ROW acquisition processes. 
• Experience with utility projects.
• Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings and survey documents accurately.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
