Position Summary
This position is housed in the Utilities Department of the Division of Facilities Management, within the Division of Finance and Administration.
This position works under the direction of the Director of Utilities and is responsible for the routine building maintenance for the trades of HVACR, plumbing, electrical, paint, carpentry, facility appearance inside & outside, and to provide event support for the School of Law in Greensboro.
This position is identified as Essential Staff, responsible for maintaining the core functions and operations of the university, especially during emergencies, crises, or situations that require continuity of essential services. This may require reporting outside of normal work hours to support the university.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Vocational or technical training - Field of study: MEP trade or construction trade Preferred
Two years of facilities maintenance experience or demonstrated skills that are transferable.

Must possess a valid NC Drivers' License and be insurable by the University carrier.
Job Duties
- The Utilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the routine preventive maintenance of all university-maintained HVACR systems and equipment including, but not limited to filter replacement, belt replacement, and lube pump replacement.
- The Utilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the routine preventive maintenance of all university-maintained plumbing systems and equipment including, but not limited to the service of sinks, faucets, showers, tubs, and toilets.
- The Utilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the routine preventive maintenance of all university-maintained electrical systems and equipment including, but not limited to bulb replacement and ballast replacement.
