Position Summary
McCormick Taylor is seeking a talented and team-oriented User Interface (UI) Developer. The individual selected for this role will directly contribute to the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of website and web application products that support our company and clients. The UI Developer will enjoy working in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team environment comprised of fellow Developers, UI/UX Designers, Marketers, Creatives, Communication Specialists, GIS Analysts, Planners, Civil Engineers, and Environmental Scientists. The ideal candidate will possess strong frontend coding skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; knowledge of programming fundamentals (advanced skill is preferred), and interpersonal relationship skills.
Job Requirements:
Responsibilities
- Create wireframes and documentation to conceptualize designs and business requirements
- Develop overall concepts for improving the user experience, user interfaces, and data structures to ensure products are intuitive, accessible, and performant
- Write code to tailor the aesthetics, features, and functions of websites, interactive maps, applications, and custom web products
- Conduct testing to assess functionality, user experience, accessibility, and optimization for various devices and browsers
- Provide assessment, maintenance, and design support to existing products
- Interact positively with clients and peers at meetings, events, and work functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant bootcamp certification in Web Design/Development, Computer Science, or a related focus is preferred
- 2-5 years of professional experience in UI development is preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Excellent professional written and interpersonal communication skills
- Organized and able to efficiently prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Willingness and ability to learn multiple frameworks, platforms, and stacks
- Detailed experience with coding and the ability to troubleshoot and analyze existing products
- Desire to continue learning about development strategies, design trends, and new technologies
- Creative intuition to solve complex tasks on projects and assignments that involve multiple technologies and teams to complete
