Your role at Baxter:
You are a problem solver. Complex projects or unexpected challenges are just opportunities to bring your considerable abilities to use. Whether working independently or with a trusted team, you are always ready to tackle a project and work hard to find solutions.
In a group environment, we design, develop, integrate, test, evaluate or improve integrated systems or related processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. Our team works with commercial or industrial designers to refine product designs to decrease costs.
Your team
Our engineering team is dedicated to quality. Delivering life-saving products is about getting them right, and our technical expertise and experience working in a manufacturing environment empower us to meet that challenge.
What you'll be doing:
" Find opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, weld processes, quality control standards, or product design, powder coating, materials and parts. Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness. Recommend design modifications to eliminate inefficiencies within the weld process.
" Solve new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes. Evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and engineering drawings to formulate corrective action plan. Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
" Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods. Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
" Perform nonconforming material analysis and create NCM reports. Work with Quality Control on reducing the NCMRs.
" Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate, weld, paint, plate parts or products and to achieve maximum efficiency and utilization.
" Update and document job instructions, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Ensure safety procedures are followed, work areas are clean and maintained, and the department is following regulatory compliance requirements.
What you'll bring:
" Bachelor s degree in engineering required; industrial or mechanical engineering preferred.
" 2+ years of job-related experience in manufacturing and weld engineering; FDA experience preferred. Experience with Lean Manufacturing preferred.
" Knowledge of design techniques, weld tooling, and weld processes involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Ability to design and set up weld robot cells for maximum efficiency.
" A strong mechanical and metallurgical background with a thorough knowledge of welding is preferred. (GMAW, GMAW-P, RSW, GTAW)
" Experience in weld validations, weld processes and developing welding procedure specifications (WPS).
" Proficient with Solid Edge or Solid Works or Auto-CAD programs.
