Must-Have:
" Master's Degree and 4+ years of experience.
" 1 year of professional work experience (in biotech or pharma)
" Protein and antibody engineering workflows, including primary sequence design, expression, purification, characterization
" Bioconjugate chemistry, also referred to as: antibody conjugate experience ADJ
" Strong analytical bio-chem skills.
" SDS page, chromatography, HPLC
Preferred Skills:
" PhD in Chemistry, Biology, Biological Engineering, or a related field.
Previous experience with: (liquid handler, automated buffers) biochemical assays (nice to have)
Computational skills:
" Computational and AI/ML approaches for rational protein engineering, including AI 3D structure prediction, homology modeling, antibody/antigen docking, other relevant experience

Summary:
Client is seeking a highly motivated Scientist I or Scientist II to join the Non-Viral Gene Therapy (NVGT) Team. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in antibody and protein engineering, with a focus on bioconjugation chemistry. The candidate will work closely with the LNP formulation team to achieve extrahepatic delivery of LNPs.
Responsibilities:
" Execute protein conjugation reactions for both screening efforts and developability to enable nanoparticle targeting to specific cells and/or tissues.
" Perform downstream analytical assays such as SDS-PAGE, SEC-HPLC, RP-HPLC, BLI, DSF, CE-SDS and/or flow-cytometry.
" Perform incorporation of targeting antibody into LNPs and execute associated analytical assays, including DLS, zeta potential, nucleic acid content, endotoxin
" Design protein and antibody molecules at the primary sequence level
" Support management of CRO for molecule production
" Closely work with therapeutic area biologists and project teams to design functional experiments and interpret data
" Execute and carefully document experiments using electronic laboratory notebook system and clearly communicate results to team members.
" Plan, execute, and record experiments as guided in a time sensitive manner.
" Assume responsibility for critical reagent sourcing and maintain adequate supply and inventory.
" Author standard operating procedures, study plans and reports and present findings.
" Foster creativity, productivity, execution with a sense of urgency, scientific integrity and accountability. Maintains a collaborative culture.
Requirements:
" PhD in Chemistry, Biology, Biological Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
" Strong experience with protein and antibody engineering workflows, including primary sequence design, expression, purification, characterization
" Direct experience with site-specific bioconjugate chemistry
" Strong analytical biochemistry experience for protein and antibody engineering
" Proficient in performing structure-function analysis and bioinformatic analysis of antibodies, antigens, and other proteins
" Experience with automation and high throughput platform(s)
" Experience with Biolayer Interferometry or equivalent technique
" Preferred use of computational and AI/ML approaches for rational protein engineering, including AI 3D structure prediction, homology modeling, antibody/antigen docking, other relevant experience
" Preferred familiarity with formulation and analysis of lipid nanoparticles for research use
" Outstanding written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
" Demonstrated knowledge and skills in solving scientific problems, ability to troubleshoot, and willingness to learn.
" Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, interpret, and present experimental results.
" Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced industry and work environment.
