Generator Rotor Winder
Six months to 18 months of industrial experience required.
Must be able to train 6 months on 1st shift (8am - 4pm) and then move to 3rd shift.
This position will involve training to be a generator rotor winder. This will require the ability to work to written instructions, be familiar with the use of a computer, safety focused mindset with attention to detail, working in teams, approachable attitude, being able to accept constructive feedback, and clear communication skills. The winding process is an assembly process where we are installing copper coils and blocking (support pieces) in a generator rotor. There is also the possibility of becoming certified in induction brazing processes. The duties will also include disassembling the same type of hardware. Additional duties include installing other related components as well as cleaning parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths. Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions. Mark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified. Position, align, and adjust work pieces and electrical parts to facilitate assembly. Communicate with supervisors or engineers to plan and review work activities, and to resolve production problems. Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers once you become experienced.
NOTE: This is not a guaranteed temp to permanent position however there are full time permanent position openings in this area which will be filled from the contractor base. If you are the type of individual that works safe, can apply yourself, is a quick learner, approachable, and a clear communicator with strong mechanical aptitude skills you may have the opportunity to be selected for a full-time role.
