Job Description:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP; physician assistant or nurse practitioner) will join our critical care team at Utah Valley Hospital, a level II Trauma Center located in Provo, Utah. Working primarily in the 36-bed intensive care unit, the APP works in close collaboration with Intensivists and other specialists to provide extraordinary patient care.The APP will see a wide variety of conditions and treatments typical in a general ICU setting, which will include pulmonary, cardiovascular, and neurological patients.
Full time, this APP will typically work 7 on, 7 off; rotating day () and swing shifts (). This will include every other Saturday and Sunday morning, shifts during the week, and rotating holidays. No call time is required for this position.
1-year clinical APP ICU experience required. A Physician Assistant that has completed a critical care fellowship or a Nurse Practitioner with acute care certification is highly preferred.

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:
- Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;
- Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;
- Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;
- Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;
- Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;
- Consultation with other healthcare providers;
- Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;
- Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.
Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization.
