About the Job
URBN is looking for a Sales Reconciliation Analyst who is responsible for daily review and reconciliation of all store and direct-to-consumer transactions globally, across all brands. Also responsible for the verification of electronic payment types specific to credit cards and alternative payment methods (ie. PayPal, Afterpay/other); ensuring all transmissions are accounted for properly in the Sales Ledger. Responsible for succinct, timely communication with stores and related internal departments to help maintain a high level of customer care. The main goal of the analyst is to accurately reconcile the credit card sales and banking transactions against the general ledger to ensure accuracy and integrity of the financial statements.
Role Responsibilities:- Reconciles daily credit cards on a transactional level in ReconNet. Researches exceptions to automated reconciliation process; resolves out of balances timely.
- Completes daily processes associated with customer settlement disputes (“chargebacks”) to ensure timely dispute responses and to minimize loss to the organization. Meets required deadlines.
- Works with retail locations to ensure the utmost customer satisfaction is upheld regarding settlement inquiries.
- Completes daily processes associated with reauthorizing and recapturing cash settlement on customer orders via PayPal, AfterPay, Klarna…
- Partners with the Store Operations and Loss Prevention groups to ensure store procedures are clear and up to date relative to transactions, special receipts, and overages/shortages.
- Aids with development and compilation of periodic reporting to accommodate changes in the business environment and/or requests from internal or external departments. Performs other ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Supports the annual SOX audit requests by providing supporting documentation as needed
- Provide support to Sales Audit Manager and Tech partners in any major initiatives impacting the department. Supports the monthly calendar sales close process and completes duties in an accurate and timely manner.
- Performs journal entries as necessary.
- Capable of navigating through various financial systems; ReconNet or other automated reconciliation software experience a plus
- Strong analytical skills; ability to evaluate data in an organized and clear fashion combined with the ability to identify, trend, and report issues
- Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge including Outlook and Excel
- Ability to prioritize and manage through a large volume of transactions
- Able to work with high degree of accuracy, integrity, and curiosity; Highly detail-oriented and a self-starter
- Can effectively communicate with upper-level management and external partners in both a written and verbal manner
- 1-2 years experience, Prior retail experience a plus
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree a plus
