Summary
This position will be responsible for the installation, monitoring, maintenance and support of test environments used by ClientTQM. Will be working with 2500+ devices, servers, hardware, software, etc. This position will be required to support and monitor test environments, including physical & virtual servers, IP networks, Databases and automation. As a member of the Lab Ops Service Operations team, this position will provide additional support, guidance and mentoring to Onshore and Offshore Service Desk.

Responsibilities
- Configuration and maintenance of servers running Windows, Linux, and Unix
- Escalation point for Service Desk for server and DB related issues
- Installation and maintenance of all test environments. Environment components include Solaris, Linux, SAN, Oracle, DNS, Radius, Brocade, Cisco, Spectrum, lab servers, and IP network components
- Configuration and maintenance of VMware and Virtual environments
- Partner with OSS Admin to monitor of the environment
- Review and provide input to new technical requirements
- Design system configurations and produce engineering documentation
- Review and create SMOPs for the Service Desk to use for Daily Operations
- Ability to participate in defining overall approach and structure of lab designs
- Documenting environment and processes
- Assist with maintaining the lab inventory in the ITRC CMDB Database and associated tools
- Proactive identification and resolution of complex technical and operational issues
- Overseeing joint venture installations and collaborating with installers for smooth exchange of documentation, best practices, and configuration methods
- Provide reports on a weekly basis of all system design and maintenance activity
- Coordinate activities between departments to ensure uninterrupted business operation
- Travel between labs may be required. Labs are currently located in PA and NJ. The employee would be based in Downingtown, PA where 90% of employee's work will take place
Position Requirements
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent job related experience/knowledge as determined by management
- 5+ years UNIX (Solaris) / Linux Administration
- Some background in Windows administration
- 5+ years systems maintenance experience
- Awareness of network essential of LAN / WAN technologies
- Experience with DNS, VMware, VDI
- Network troubleshooting
- Data Center experience is a must - have to know way around labs
- Strong experience configuring and maintaining system OS and security
- Strong knowledge of IP networks
- Strong network diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of performance monitoring and configuration management tools
- Knowledge of Storage Area Networks and RAID Technologies
- Knowledge of software development life cycle and test process and design skills
- Basic Knowledge of system applications such as DNS, Radius and NTP
- Basic knowledge of the OSI model, switching and internet routing technologies
- Experience of diagnosing network and service issues, following them through to resolution
- Must have good communication skills, working in teams and as an individual contributor
- Must be willing to accept additional assignments, and take the lead, and assist other team members as necessary
- Ability to work autonomously without close supervision or assistance
- Strong analytical skills and able to collate and interpret data from various sources
- Basic knowledge of the OSI model, switching and internet routing technologies
- Basic understanding of network monitoring concepts and management tools (Spectrum, NAGIOS, HPNA, SNMP)
- Experience with scripting (Perl, BASH, and other web app language such as SQL and PHP)
- Capable of multi-tasking, good time management, and prioritization of workload
Experience with Any of the Following is a Plus
- Knowledge of the cable television industry and related technology
- Oracle or SQL database experience
