This position is responsible for developing and executing internal communication strategies that effectively engage alumni, faculty, and staff. Positioned within the Office of Public Relations, this role is essential in promoting the culture, mission, and values of Touro University Nevada to our alumni and employees. This position is responsible for creating content, campaigns, and processes that ensure the university remains well-informed while supporting the needs of various departments especially supporting the Human Resources department.
Additionally, the Coordinator will play a crucial role in keeping alumni connected to Touro Nevada through announcements, highlights, events, and other opportunities that foster continued engagement. This position is key to communicating important messages, initiatives, and updates to alumni in a clear, compelling, and engaging way, strengthening the relationship between Touro Nevada and its graduates.

Responsibilities:- Craft compelling written and visual content from Touro University Nevada used for social media, newsletters, website stories, and other media.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources Department assisting with employee enrichment, digital directory, events, newsletter, and other additional communication needs.
- Provide updated information on alumni collaborating with the Office of Development.
- Attend Touro Nevada hosted events to communicate engagement opportunities to university target audiences.
- Work with communications team to develop stories and interviews with individuals in written or video format.
- Collect, design, manage content communications on university internal digital signage.
- Collaborate with campus Events Services Manager to assist with university events in support of their communication needs.
- Assist Director of Communications and Public Relations in the continuous measurement of the effectiveness of communications strategies.
- Collaborate with Director of Communications and Public Relations and the webmaster to provide website updates, as needed.
- Additional tasks and projects may be assigned including those which fall outside these responsibilities to help support the Office of Public Relations needs.
Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, History, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Public Relations, Internal Marketing, Education, Higher Education, Non-Profit, Internal Communications, Corporate Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
Skills & Abilities:
- Must be an excellent communicator and strong writer - with the ability to keep complex things simple. Excellent verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Strong understanding of communication principles and practices, with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
- Proficiency in graphic design (Canva or Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator) with a beginner to intermediate level.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects while simultaneously managing deadlines.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on employee, student, and alumni engagement.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
