Job Description
MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in website design with a proven record of previously developed websites. One to two years’ experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns and social media management. Proven competency using graphic applications for the development of logos, brochures, headers, and marketing content.
Preferred Experience & Additional Skills:
• Knowledge of website design best practices and UX Principles
• Knowledge of Website Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
• Skilled in the use of graphic and layout applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator.
• Working Knowledge of the use of Content Management Systems
• Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and Javascript
• Working Knowledge of social media management tools and content creation platforms.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional analytical aptitude.
• The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, well organized and able to work independently.
Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as the College of Nursing’s primary web content manager, ensuring timely updates and adherence to best practices in user experience (UX), WCAG 2.0 accessibility guidelines, and search engine optimization (SEO). Collaborate with departments to manage web content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with branding guidelines. Regularly audit and optimize web content for SEO and performance metrics to enhance user experience and accessibility. Manage updates to the College of Nursing websites, apps, and web-based resources using the university’s Content Management System (CMS), Site Core. Adheres to the University’s corporate marketing standard for website design.35%
2. Collaborate in the development and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, social media, email, etc.). Assist in managing the college’s social media presence across platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement. Develop and curate social media content that reflects the college’s programs, research, events, and initiatives. Assists in Tracking and analyzing campaign performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and provide data-driven insights for future strategies. Partner with student
services, recruitment, and philanthropy teams to help amplify brand awareness and engagement through innovative marketing strategies. Assist in market research to identify trends and opportunities that inform campaign strategies.35%
3. Support the development of print and digital collateral, maintaining consistent visual branding across platforms. Assist in producing graphics, brochures, recruitment materials, and other promotional content. Collaborate with the multimedia specialist to develop compelling visuals for faculty publications and marketing campaigns. 15%
4. Assist faculty, staff, and students in developing online stories and other content highlighting key programs and initiatives. Assist in editing and proofreading materials to ensure consistency with the college’s tone, style, and brand. Ensure all digital materials adhere to the college’s branding guidelines and promote a consistent visual identity. Assists the Communications and Marketing Director in managing external publications such as newsletters, magazines, and
promotional booklets. 10%
5. Other duties essential to maintaining a quality, professional, responsive, and service oriented Communications and Marketing. Serve as back-up to other team members when necessary. 5%
