POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of clerical support and other duties to assist the nursing staff in carrying out daily patient care activities. Prepared and maintains patient medical records. Transcribes and expedites Physician orders. Functions as a Receptionist. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology required.
COMPETENCIES:
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively using the English language.
- Basic Computer skills are necessary.

Prepares medical records for new admissions and discharged patients. Maintains accurate medical record during patient stay.Accurately transcribes orders under the direction of a registered nurse. Enters orders in the computer system. Prioritizes orders by identifying those with timed or immediate action. Notifies appropriate nursing staff or department.Demonstrates accounting skills by correctly using payment resource, transfer of accurate billing data onto super bill, and cash management without errors. Maintains cash receipts as verification that cash was received by RGH cashier.Answers telephone in a polite and timely manner; retrieves and records voice mail messages. Distinguishes importance of calls and s RN/APRN as appropriate. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.Assists nursing staff in maintaining smooth operation of clinic by scheduling appointments appropriately, settings patients up in rooms and preparing rooms for the next patient.Enters charges into the computer on a daily basis. Identifies trends in billing errors and follows through problem resolution in a timely manner. Orders supplies, processes work orders, enters charges and performs other coordinating activities to maintain unit operations.Collects data for quarterly reports and submits to clinical manager in a timely manner.PI256467606
