Unit Manager Job Duties

A unit manager typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

• Ensuring that all staff members are performing their duties effectively and efficiently
• Managing the day-to-day operations of the department or unit, including hiring and training employees and overseeing their performance
• Monitoring inventory levels to ensure that supplies are adequate and ordering more as needed
• Providing leadership and guidance to employees, including coaching them on best practices
• Maintaining a safe work environment by enforcing safety regulations and procedures
• Ensuring that all company policies are being followed and recommending changes when necessary
• Reviewing reports and statistics to identify opportunities for improvement in productivity and efficiency
• Coordinating with other departments such as accounting and human resources to ensure smooth operations
• Developing and enforcing rules and procedures to ensure that the workplace runs smoothly
• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license required
