Summary: Responsible for manual bagging operations and basic troubleshooting of bagging equipment, operating pallet jack and stretch wrapping pallets. Operate forklift for receipt of materials and placement of finished goods for shipping or inventory on a daily basis. Maintain housekeeping throughout the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time):
- Inspect Packaging machinery at beginning of production run.
- Support production and housekeeping efforts of other Operators.
- Follow production schedule.
- Monitor production output to ensure quality and appropriate weight.
- Monitor Packaging machinery for proper function and immediately report problems to Maintenance or Shift Supervisor.
- Perform duties of Fork Lift Operator, Pallet Stretch Wrapper, and Bagger as required.
- Operate forklift for receipt of materials, place finished goods into inventory, and loading trucks.
- Rework non-conforming stock including rewrapping and re-palletizing finished goods.
- Monitor Packaging area for cleanliness and perform housekeeping in all areas in the plant as required.
- Assist other Operators to make sure packaging area is set up for the next shift.
- Record checks performed, weights and number of materials used.
- Accurately complete production paperwork and equipment checklists daily.
- Participate in CIP (Continuous Improvement Program) and 6S
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and/or Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. - Environmental conditions in different parts of the plant can include extreme heat and cold, wet and humid conditions, noise, vibration, exposure to dust and poor ventilation.
- Hazardous conditions include moving parts, potential electrical shock, and slick floors.
- PPE including hard hat, steel-toed shoes with meta-tarsal guards, ear plugs when required, and safety glasses are required at all times.
