The Role You'll Play to Create Success

We are happy to announce a full-time Unemployment and Garnishment Specialist position in Clearwater, FL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact the FrankCrum business everyday by processing garnishments and unemployment claims.  

1. Processes writs of garnishments and child support orders and answers writ of garnishments in a timely manner. Releases garnishment checks with answers; compiles status reports when required; keeps and maintains accurate garnishments records in the electronic filing system.
2. Correctly calculates deduction amounts based on the employee’s pay frequency, order requirements, and CCPA guidelines.
3. Requests refunds owed to employees and/or clients.
4. Responds to requests from clients or employees for information, for example, a status of an income deduction, copies of garnishment orders, and various questions.
5. Answers phone calls daily, as well as monitors and responds to the department’s emails one day a week.
6. Processes unemployment claims for all states.
7. Communicates with clients regarding termination information, hearings, and appeal processes.
8. Responds to initial unemployment claims for all states.
9. Gathers hearing information from clients and coordinates witnesses.
10. Appeals unemployment decisions and telephonically participates in hearings.
11. Documents all communication regarding unemployment claims, appeals, and hearings electronically in an unemployment management system.
12. Keeps all unemployment related records in the electronic filing system.

The Attributes We Seek

Keys to success in this position include having knowledge of basic payroll processing and state unemployment compensation regulations, as well as Florida and Georgia garnishment regulations. Two (2) years of experience in accounting, human resources, payroll or a related field is required. An associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field is preferred, a high school diploma or equivalent in combination with relevant experience processing unemployment claims and garnishments is required.
