Seneca’s Custom Property is looking for an Underwriter Assistant Supervisor. The incumbent would be responsible for managing Underwriting Assistants, training new hires, assisting with quality control for the team. Candidates should have experience with Microsoft Office – (Outlook, Excel and Word), ImageRight and WINS experience a plus. Travel could be up to 20% depending on where candidate is located.
This is a hybrid role that can be done in Chicago, IL or Cherry Hill, NJ.
What you will do for C&F:
- Manage Underwriting Assistants
- Create reports for the team:
- Monthly Renewal list
- Weekly Unprocessed reports
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday WINS pended report
- Monitor effectiveness and quality of team’s work, via weekly audits.
- Train new hires.
- Test new releases in the Policy Issuance program (Duck Creek).
- Review work flows throughout the day and reallocated work as needed. Effectively perform daily UA tasks so that they can fill in as needed, tasks include but are not limited to:
- Issue Policies
- Book Policies in WINS
- Complete Fac Cession Slips (Reinsurance)
- Code Facultative Reinsurance
- Calculate RP/AP endorsements based on account rate/underwriting instructions (AP=Additional Premium/RP=Return Premium)
- Determine pro-rata/short rate factors (method of calculating premiums on a short-term basis rather than Annual)
- Issue Endorsements
- Book Endorsements in WINS
- Perform all pre-quote work required by underwriting, i.e. risk meter, ISO, M&S, Web Research, Experian, Mapping (all ancillary resources) Risk Browser
- Follow up with producers for all subjectivity requirements
What you will bring to C&F:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience plus 3 years of experience
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Problem-solving, independent judgement and critical thinking aptitude
- Conflict resolution skills
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and adaptable
- Creative and able to keep team invested and motivated

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $61,700.00 to a maximum of $90,500.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
