Multi-state commercial insurance carrier is seeking an Underwriting Assistant based in their Long Beach, NY location.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
Review new business submissions as they are cleared in the system and request missing information from brokers.
Stay on top of daily workflow of submissions/tasks/notes as they come due.
Prepare and complete policy issuance which includes collecting the binder subjectivities and ensuring completeness of the file.
Process requests such as cancellation notices, name changes and any endorsement changes to the policy.
Review collected documents for accuracy ie: UL Policies, TRIA forms, Accords and Supp Apps
Assist in completing the rating pages (in our rating system), as needed/directed by the Underwriter.
Participate in departmental projects as required.
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
Understanding of insurance terminology required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
Experience:
3+ years’ experience in Auto Liability insurance area (Excess preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Functional in a highly collaborative environment.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Detail oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple projects and tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
The expected pay range for the role is $60,000 - $65,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and experiences. The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
