POSITION: ULTRASONOGRAPHER Traveler Contract
POSITION DETAILS
Minimum hours required: 36 per week; guaranteed
Maximum hours: 40+ per week (overtime will be approved as needed)
The shifts associated with this position will be staffed at the Main Hospital location in York, ME. The shifts associated with this position could include 3 -12 hour days including call on varied weeknights and every 4-5th weekend. Schedule will be known in advance monthly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff members provide care appropriate to the condition and age of patients, including geriatric, pediatric and general population. Staff is responsible for the care and safety of patients and maintaining patient confidentially at all times. Staff is responsible for communicating the mission and vision of the hospital as well as developing effective working relationships with patients, physicians and path members.
Job-specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
Analyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician
Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer s care
Maintains accurate patient records
Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintains adequate supplies
Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all interrelating hospitals, referral or commercial agencies
Demonstrates flexibility of schedule, supports off-shift call, responding and ready to take patient within 30 minutes of notification
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience: Graduate of formal diagnostic medical sonography program
Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (preferred)
Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
At least 2+ years of experience preferred
Individual must have experience in general abdominal , small parts vascular, and OB/GYN including fetal survey scanning
Flexible and adaptable
Works independently in a team environment
PHYSICAL ABILITIES/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must have the ability to read and communicate effectively. This job requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting and some repetitive motions.
