About the Unit
The Helen DeVos Ultrasound team is made up of 9 US techs that support the Helen Devos Children’s Hospital. This team provides coverage 24/7/365 as a level 1 pediatric trauma. This team is valued and looked to as one of the primary imaging choices to lower radiation use in the pediatric population. The ideal fit for this role enjoys working with children while challenging themselves to work at the full extent of their skill sets. Our team loves to knowledge share and collaborates with our pediatric radiologist to provide highly skilled care. We have also added a facility dog to our team who aids in distraction for the patients, and we all love working with.”

Opening in downtown Grand Rapids in January 2011, Helen DeVos is a 14-floor building dedicated pediatric facility. The iconic blue building is a landmark of the “Medical Mile”. Scope of work
Under site designate leader, and according to established policies and procedures performs accurate and efficient Ultrasound exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation. Always follows Beaumont philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.
Qualifications
- Required Associate's Degree or equivalent years of experience in related field
- CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required Or
- CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Excludes SHMG (OBGYN/MFM), and SHMG Vascular Upon Hire required And
- CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Excludes SHMG Vascular and SHGR Breast Imaging Upon Hire required And
- CRT-Vascular Technologist (VT) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography SHGR, Regionals and SHMG Vascular Imaging; excludes SHMG (OBGYN/MFM) and SHGR Breast Imaging 1 Year required Or
- CRT-Vascular Sonographer (VS) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist SHGR, Regionals and SHMG Vascular Imaging; excludes SHMG (OBGYN/MFM) and SHGR Breast Imaging 1 Year required And
- CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist WITHIN 1 YEAR Grand Rapids Breast Imaging; WITHIN 2 YEARS all regionals performing breast ultrasound 1 Year required Or
- CRT-Breast (BR) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography WITHIN 1 YEAR Grand Rapids Breast Imaging; WITHIN 2 YEARS all regionals performing breast ultrasound 1 Year required And
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
