Job Description
This position reports to the head of U.S. Customs Regulatory and may be in Orlando, Charlotte, and Houston.
Requirement:
• Candidate should have expert-level knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, FTA and country of origin determination, ADD/CVD scope determinations, Section 232 and 301, Incoterms®.
• Experience with U.S. import and export compliance in corporate environment.
• Expertise with Customs compliance and trade regulations
Responsibilities/Duties:
• Serve as the internal Customs compliance and trade regulations subject matter expert.
• Support in the implementation of standards of U.S. import and export compliance per Internal Control Program requirements.
• Assist in ensuring Company’s compliance with U.S. laws governing import, export, and trade agreement activities. Interface and collaborate with business areas, locations, subsidiaries and internal Customs teams regarding import/export procedures and requirements.
• Remain up to date on all federal regulation changes and evaluate the impact to current processes for management.
• Develop and provide training to peers, colleagues, stakeholders, and businesses, as necessary to maintain a high level of compliance awareness and knowledge within the company.
• Management of day-to-day import and export activity as needed (e.g., review of customs documents, broker instructions). Analyze and aggregate the causes of customs clearance issues and delays as needed to drive improvement actions with our partners and staff.
• Support in research and preparation of binding rulings, scope rulings, post-entry amendments, CF28 and CF29’s.
• FP&F and Customs bills analysis and response.
• Support in M&A and Divestitures due diligence.
• Support the internal Customs monitoring programs by addressing compliance findings and implementing corrective actions with respective business areas to remediate and reduce non-compliance.
• Develop Procedures/Templates/Forms/Fact Sheets.
• Advises U.S. business areas on U.S. import and export questions and strategies to facilitate compliant and cost-effective operations.
• Support in the development, implementation and enforcement of guidelines, solutions and plans in order to optimize Customs processes.
• Support in external and internal audits.
• Support the risk management and customs compliance program and Forced Labor strategy and guidance to business areas.
