This position provides support for wind turbine engineering issues in the company's portfolio of wind projects with the primary responsibility of providing solutions to improve overall wind turbine operating performance. The goals of this position are to improve turbine energy capture by both reducing lost energy as well as increasing turbine efficiency and reliability. The position requires the ability to manage complex and time sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the engineering and operations team.

Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Manage and investigate solutions to ongoing wind turbine component reliability issues
- Evaluate and address equipment inspections and condition monitoring reports
- Evaluates solutions for wind turbine technical issues identified at the wind farms including reliability and performance improvements
- Performs independent root cause analysis and/or validates contractor root cause analysis
- Review plans, specifications, and drawings related to projects provided by third party engineering services vendors
- Provide periodic on-site project management services during the execution of the projects
- Work with Turbine OEM and third-party vendors or perform independent root cause analyses
- Review and approve changes to wind turbine configuration
- Assesses failure rates and expected lifetime for wind turbine components
- Develops models for wind plant operational costs
- Perform financial modeling and pay-back evaluations
- Investigate new data analysis products and services
- Provides detailed technical written reports
- Additional duties as required to maintain turbine safety, compliance, and performance
- Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar from an ABET-accredited institution
- 3-5 years of relevant technical experience; experience with wind power generation preferred
- Strong working knowledge of wind turbine design, operation, and maintenance
- Problem-solving ability
- Ability to be self-motivated, remain focused, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage priorities in a complex, dynamic environment
- Ability to work with site management teams to ensure the success of projects for the benefit of your internal customers
- Excellent communication skills, including ability to clearly communicate ideas to non-technical colleagues
- High level of competence of MS Office software programs
- Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and drawings, including one-line, three-line, and wiring diagrams
- Fundamental understanding of mechanical and electrical system component design and operation
