TSSCI w/Poly Network Engineer - Leading Path Consulting

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the design and the integrity of the customer’s complex internal network, including customer-facing hosted and cloud environments.  They will provide expert technical assistance to team members with high-level system and networking request. They will also secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity, mitigate threats, and reduce costs.  This role will be responsible for designing, implementation and testing complex infrastructure in support of our customer needs.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

1.       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience

2.       10+ years of experience with architecting and designing IP networks and associated technologies

3.       In-depth understanding of networking to include routing, switching, network monitoring and management

4.       Strong troubleshooting skills specific to network connectivity, security, and ability to effectively work in cross functional teams as needed to resolve issues

5.       Demonstrated experience with Cisco NextGen firewalls

6.       SME for SDN engagements built around Cisco ACI

7.       Background in Cisco ACI design, planning, implementation, and testing, based on a multi datacenter configurations

8.       Good team and collaboration skills

9.       Ability to research and find new and innovative technologies to enhance the existing network

10.   Define network strategy with respect to technology domain standards and design goals

11.   Provide technical design and architectural leadership, including documenting and diagramming the logical, physical and process views

12.   Experience analyzing network traffic, using a variety of network tools to assess security-related events to assist in rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outages

13.   Experience in designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting these various network technologies and protocols

14.   Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining boundary security solutions and exposure to enterprise network architecture

15.   Good knowledge and hands-on experience with VXLAN/EVPN

Requirements

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

1.       Experience with Network Access Control and Segmentation

2.       Experience with security compliance standards

3.       Experience with site-to-site VPNs and/or remote access VPNs

4.       Network programmability for automating network tasks (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Python, Rest API’s)

5.       Experience with Data Center and co-location solutions as they relate to SDN architecture and Design

6.       Experience configuring/administrating various network technologies including: Cisco ACI, Cisco DCNM, OTV, VMware NSX

7.       Demonstrated experience designing and implementing network reference architecture from mission requirements gathering to technology rollout oversight, including capacity management, technology selection, integration of multiple tools and technical documentation

8.       Familiarity with Software defined networking (SDN) Network Disaggregation technologies and methodologies along with open source solutions

9.       Ability to brief complex information to senior leadership

10.   Familiarity with Software defined networking (SDN) Network Disaggregation technologies and methodologies along with open source solutions

11.   Drive enhancements through full life-cycle from concept to final implementation and support

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.       Installation and maintenance of network equipment

2.       Troubleshooting and resolution of network issues

3.       Design network architectures based on customer requirements and industry best practices

4.       Development of unique solutions that will meet customer requirements and industry best practices

5.       Collaborate effectively with other IT disciplines (e.g., Storage, Platform, Application) to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems

6.       Develop and maintain configurations plans for Cisco NextGen Firewall design, planning, implementation, and testing, based on a multi datacenter configurations

7.       Develop and maintain configurations plans for Cisco ACI design, planning, implementation, and testing, based on a multi datacenter configurations

8.       Create architectural design solutions and successfully present them to client stakeholders.

9.       Work with infrastructure engineers to identify new products and solutions

10.   Document maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructure

11.   Maintain systems and documentation as needed for audits and compliance

12.   Communications with customers:  keeping them  informed of incident progress, notifying of impending changes, or coordinated outages

13.   Be available for other engineers and coach them to resolution

14.   Participate in 24x7 on call and assist in resolving issues outside normal business hours
