Job Description: The firm is seeking a skilled Trust & Probate Legal Assistant to support its trust and probate team. The ideal candidate will have experience assisting attorneys with estate planning and probate administration, including the preparation of legal documents, client communications, and case management. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative setting and contribute to meaningful client work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in managing trust and probate cases, including estate administration and trust management.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate petitions.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurate and up to date.
- Communicate with clients, court officials, and third parties regarding case matters.
- Conduct legal research and assist with the preparation of court filings and pleadings.
- Schedule and coordinate hearings, client meetings, and other appointments.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certification or equivalent experience in a legal assistant role.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in trust and probate law or estate planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with Alabama probate laws and procedures.
