Job Summary
Our team of drivers are key ambassadors of Golden Harvest Food Bank. As a Class B Truck Driver, you are responsible for safely and efficiently operating vehicles over an established route; collecting and delivering products. This position receives, store and distributes products and exhibits excellent customer service with the public, our donors, and clients. Golden Harvest Food Bank Warehouse Techs are responsible for a wide variety of distribution center duties. It includes receiving, product movement, processing, disposal, and order picking. As part of the Operations Team, all members are responsible for ensuring food safety, cleanliness, and workplace safety in compliance with Golden Harvest and Feeding America guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Reads schedules, work orders, shipping information or requisitions ensuring efficiency
-Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations & mileage logging
-Inspects truck and maintains cleanliness of inside and outside of truck
-Safely secure and transport donated food from donors to designated distribution sites, always using proper food handling techniques
-Acts as a liaison between agencies, donors, and/or clients and Golden Harvest Food Bank
-Ensures contents are properly secured inside vehicles to prevent damage
-Maintains positive relationships with food donors and recipients
-Fully understands how to operate and safely drive assigned vehicles
-Obtain necessary signatures upon completion of pick-ups or deliveries
-Maintain proper use and upkeep of vehicles
-Maintains food safety standards, including temperature control
-Assists with weighing product; loading and unloading at warehouses
-Works cooperatively with others including staff, supervisors, co-workers, and agencies
-Maintains workplace safety in all aspects of the job, particularly warehouse equipment and assigned vehicles
-Consistently represents the Food Bank in a professional manner, exhibiting excellent customer service
-Follows the daily pick-up and delivery schedule, communicating necessary changes
-Assists other drivers and/or warehouse staff as needed; may assist with food drives
-Safely operates forklift, hand truck, manual/electric jack, pallet wrapping machine, compactors, and other tools/machines as appropriate
-Ensures contents are properly secured inside vehicles to prevent damage
-Pick, palletize, prepare, and load product safely to prevent product damage
-Informs warehouse management of any discrepancies of quantity and/or product quality
-Assists in warehouse with all aspects of inventory, agency orders, cleaning, and organizing
-Attends all meetings, workshops, and/or trainings as directed

-May have interaction or provide direction to volunteers at distribution sites
Skills & Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual will demonstrate teamwork, commitment, written and verbal communication and organizational skills. The Class B Truck Driver & Warehouse Tech must have excellent customer service skills, being able to work effectively with a diverse population. This position requires positive, enthusiastic interactions with the public. Must be able to meet deadlines and be results oriented.

Education and/or Experience
-Must have high school diploma or GED
-Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
-Forklift operation (certification may be obtained through Golden Harvest Food Bank)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
-Must have valid Class B Driver's license and good driving record
-Successfully complete ServSafe Food Safety certification
-Must be able to pass background checks, MVR checks, drug screens and fit-for duty testing
