The Prince George’s County Department of Corrections is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Treatment Counselor, grade Q18/21, in the Inmate Services Division.
About the Position
This is a dually allocated position whereby the incumbents will be non-competitively promoted to Correctional Treatment Coordinator II, after serving a successful 12-month probationary period. This is entry to full performance level professional work, whereby the incumbent performs a full range of assignments in rehabilitative and remedial social services to inmates/detainees, within a Correctional Facility. Work is performed under the close supervision of a higher level Correctional Treatment Coordinator and evaluated through conferences, review of completed work, and observation of performance.
*This position is considered "Essential". The incumbent selected for this position must be willing to stay or report to work during a program-related incident/crisis, a man-made crisis, or inclement weather when other county employees have been granted administrative leave.
