Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accountant specializing in Cash Management and Accounts Payable to join our client's finance team. This role manages day-to-day cash operations, banking relationships, and merchant activities while providing critical accounts payable support, particularly in utilities management and vendor relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bank account operations including account opening, due diligence processes, and maintenance of documentation while serving as the primary liaison between finance and accounting teams for cash-related matters.
- Execute and oversee financial transactions including wires, ACH transfers, bank transfers, and deposits while maintaining detailed records of daily cash activities and movements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for reporting tools, database management, and metrics tracking while implementing automation solutions for cash processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Handle utility provider relationships, process invoices, conduct vendor reconciliations, and address vendor inquiries while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of real estate management and accounting (affordable housing experience preferred)
- Experience with property management software required (Yardi, MRI, RealPage, etc.)
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
- Critical thinking abilities with a focus on process improvement and controls
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities
- Experience with cash management and treasury operations
