The Travelling Concrete/Foundation General Foreman at D. Grimm, Inc. is responsible for overseeing crew management, executing on-site project management, and maintaining direct communication with the Construction Manager. You will ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This position plays a critical role in driving project success and mentoring crew members.

- Production Tasks:
- Meet or exceed project delivery timelines.
- Ensure projects stay within budget and allotted man hours.
- Manage and lead the production crew daily.
- Plan and execute daily and weekly tasks for the crew.
- Schedule material deliveries, including sand, gravel, and other necessary resources.
- Conduct daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and safety meetings with the crew.
- Review and communicate daily production expectations to the crew.
- Verify delivery tickets against materials and equipment delivered.
- Submit delivery tickets to the office weekly.
- Conduct safety inspections throughout the workday.
- Schedule 3rd party Quality Assurance/Quality Control inspections (construction staking/material testing).
- Equipment/Tooling Tasks:
- Ensure operators complete equipment inspections every morning before starting work.
- Oversee daily maintenance of equipment, including cleaning, greasing, and oiling.
- Immediately notify the equipment manager of any issues or accidents.
- Manage tooling for daily activities, and report issues or replacement needs.
- Submit weekly equipment inspection reports for all machines, even those not used, every Monday.
- Operating heavy equipment as needed
- Reporting/Paperwork:
- Submit detailed daily production reports.
- Include a minimum of 3 photos and all relevant production details.
- Complete the quantity tab daily to track progress.
- Submit daily JSA forms and time sheets.
- Ensure equipment inspection reports are turned in to the office by Monday at 10 AM.
- Management/Communication:
- Communicate with customer field representatives as needed.
- Keep the Construction Manager informed about production, material, and equipment needs.
- Coach and mentor crew members, fostering safety, productivity, and skill development.
- Lead by example, enforcing all D. Grimm, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Document and address any disciplinary issues with crew members, submitting all documentation within 24 hours.
- Attend management meetings as required.
- Local foremen must attend monthly meetings at the office.
- Out-of-town foremen should attend as permitted.
- Submit all credit card receipts at the time of purchase.
- Inform the office within 24 hours of any employee terminations or if an employee quits or is a no-show for two days.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- GPS experience is required.
- OSHA or 30 is preferred.
- Proven experience as a general foreman/superintendent for large foundation projects.
- Experience in pours over 200 CY, structural concrete, vertical retaining walls, substations, cased drilled piers.
- Layout with a theodolite or total station utilizing baselines.
- Drilled pier construction including bolt cages and verifying bolt projections and orientation.
- Underground conduit and grounding in an electrical substation.
- Experience using slurry with drilled piers.
- QA/QC checklist.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and mentor a crew.
- Familiarity with construction safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to ensure smooth coordination with crew members, Construction Managers, and customers.
- Strong organizational skills for managing production, equipment, and reporting.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and blueprints.
- Ability to check and set grade stakes with an eye level and/or laser.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and productive job site.
