Summary
A Field Technician is responsible for assisting in start-up commissioning, integration, emergency service and troubleshooting of E+I Engineering 480VAC/15KVAC electrical switchgear, including PDU, ATS, PDC, circuit breakers, protective relays, plc, meters and other automated devices as well as mechanical repairs and modifications under the direction of senior technicians. The FT is required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate. The FT is also required to maintain continuous communication with CRC, Supervisor, and direct manager.
Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on electronic experience or field services is desired
Training in electrical theory and technologies. Experience and/or prior military service performing applicable job duties.
Familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals
Reading schematics and blueprints for power control, automation is desired.
Power distribution, AC/DC, Voltage Circuit Theory and practical troubleshooting skills is desired
Background in electrical power including low voltage through medium voltage and experience with most types of switchgear testing is a plus.
Experience with programming PLCs and HMIs is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude
High School Diploma or GED required
Standard computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth pe rception, and the ability to adjust focus
Must have ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds
Valid driver's license is required

The Field Technician is required to establish, promote, and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate
Ability to evaluate the operating conditions of equipment
Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers
Must have the ability and self-motivation to manage one's own schedule
Perform general and preventive maintenance on switchgear
Respond to emergency calls at customer's request
Strive to provide all customers a 'first time fix' for their equipment
Provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external customers
Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidel ines and laws.
Provide accurate and timely reporting of time cards, expense reports, etc
While performing duties of the above jobs, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell
The associate frequently is required to sit and climb or balance

Working Conditions:
Travel is required, Individual assignments are typically 3 to 5 weeks in duration
When on assignment, working schedules are typically 10-12 hours per day, 5-6 days per week, day, or night shift
This is a hands-on field, travel type position. The travel - up to 80% - could be national/international depending on site locations
