Position Summary: We are actively seeking a Traveling Superintendent with a proven successful track record and professional background in building storage facilities and multi-story commercial projects. This role is central to our operations, requiring a seasoned professional who excels in managing complex construction processes from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the self-storage sector and demonstrate a capacity to handle multiple commercial projects across varied locales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee the construction lifecycle of commercial projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
- Manage and supervise construction personnel and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project objectives.
- Perform thorough site inspections regularly to monitor compliance with design specifications, safety codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and enforce detailed project timelines; manage daily site operations and coordinate efforts among all project stakeholders.
- Address on-site challenges and emergencies adeptly, adjusting plans swiftly to maintain project momentum.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and specialists to align project execution with strategic goals.
- Draft and deliver comprehensive project reports, providing transparent updates to stakeholders on progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Champion the enforcement of health and safety protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for all employees.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of direct experience as a Traveling Superintendent, specifically with self-storage and large-scale commercial projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency in overseeing ground-up construction of multi-story commercial buildings.
- Strong project management capabilities, with a record of effectively managing multiple projects in diverse locations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging with various stakeholders from workers to executives.
- Thorough understanding of construction practices, tools, and regulations, with a keen ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively as required by project demands.
- Educational background in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
