WCCTV is experiencing tremendous growth in the United States. We are currently hiring experienced Traveling Field Technicians for our Installation & Service department. Primary responsibilities of the position include providing support to the existing Field team with installation, de-installation, repair and maintenance of surveillance and security equipment. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Installation of Wireless CCTV Systems
- Reviews installation schedule, confirms and tests products before deployment.
- Programs surveillance cameras / routers and related equipment in advance of installation.
- Drives to customer sites, delivers and installs Solar Surveillance Trailers and/or CCTV cameras ensuring systems are properly installed and operating prior to customer sign off. May conduct site survey prior to installation.
- Completes all installation paperwork and obtains customer sign off as required. Responds to customer questions regarding system operations as needed.
- Interfaces with onsite customers or subcontractors on new installations and service calls.
- Interfaces with internal Customer Service and Production departments on customer orders, installation information or related items.
- Manages tools & vehicle inventory on daily basis ensuring properly equipped for all installation or repair tasks.
- Adheres to all field safety requirements of Wireless CCTV and its customers.
2. Field Service and De-Installation
- Performs service and/or maintenance of WCCTV products at customer locations. Addresses and resolves customer's technical product issues through fault diagnosis, troubleshooting & maintenance of low voltage CCTV systems.
- Responsible for the de-installation/decommission of solar surveillance trailers at customer sites and delivery of trailers back to WCCTV's depot.
3. Business Improvement
- Assisting in the implementation of improvements wherever possible to reduce costs and improve time efficiency.
- Assisting and updating Production, Installation and Service processes and documentation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent required. Associates degree in Electronics or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience installing, servicing and troubleshooting CCTV, alarm/access control or related products at customer locations required.
- Previous experience training and mentoring staff performing the role preferred.
- Must have a current valid state driver’s license, good driving record and ability to rent commercial vehicles.
- Must be able to travel up to a week at a time via car or airplane extensively throughout the US to customer locations.
- Previous forklift certification preferred.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of low voltage wiring, solar technology configuration and security monitoring equipment required.
- Intermediate knowledge of computer networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Gateways, routers, switches required.
- Intermediate computer skills to include MS Office and diagnostic software (e.g. PC-based).
- Demonstrated ability to translate wiring diagrams and understand complex interactions between software and hardware
- Demonstrated effective time management, planning and organization skills along with ability to multi-task as this is a “hands on” role.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal staff and customers.
- Effective written communication skills required for accurate documentation of troubleshooting performed on site and over the phone.
- Previous technical writing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under general guidelines with strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability handling complex technical tasks and deliver consistently accurate outcomes.
- Physical requirements include driving, walking, sitting, speaking, seeing and reading. Fine motor skills/hand dexterity for the use of tools, computer, mobile phone and other related equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must also be able to climb ladders, bend, reach, twist, and have ability to distinguish colors.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather is required.
Work Hours & Days: Monday through Friday with hours as required each day/week based upon travel schedule to customer locations. Required to travel out of state extensively each week and stay overnight away from home territory. May be required to travel on Sunday and return on Saturday depending upon start and end times for customer installations and service calls.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly range is $23.00 to $28.00 per hour.
