About the Job
Description
Join Our Team as a Traveling Engineering Technician (Electro-Mechanic)
Are you an innovative problem-solver with a knack for mechanical and electrical systems? Love the idea of traveling to new places, tackling challenges, and driving operational excellence? If so, we have the perfect role for you!
We’re looking for a Traveling Engineering Technician to join our Automated Solutions team. This dynamic, full-time position offers the chance to make a real impact in optimizing cutting-edge equipment at both local and remote pharmacy locations. You’ll troubleshoot, train, and lead improvements while traveling up to 50% of the time.
What You’ll Do
As a Traveling Engineering Technician, you will step in to cover Electro Mechanic (EM) roles at various pharmacies, troubleshooting, repairing, and enhancing mechanical and electrical systems to ensure peak performance. You’ll minimize downtime by proactively identifying and implementing permanent fixes. You’ll also maintain and improve production systems to meet design specifications, tracking and reporting on daily operational effectiveness.
You’ll partner with EMs, Operations Managers, and Production Supervisors to lead preventative maintenance programs and enhance equipment reliability. Additionally, you’ll spearhead engineering initiatives to improve processes, equipment, and materials while providing onsite support for new pharmacy launches, including installations, training, and startup assistance. Training operators and maintenance staff on setups, equipment operations, and troubleshooting will also be key to your role.
What We’re Looking For
- You’ll thrive in this role if you have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Packaging Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience.
- We’re looking for candidates with three to six years of electro-mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment, along with basic electrical knowledge of low voltage control systems and 3-phase power systems up to 220V.
- Candidates with experience using power tools, measuring devices, and manual machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders will excel in this position.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley preferred: Logix 5000, Factory Talk View) and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics are important.
- Additional skills that will set you apart include strong project management or supervisory experience, adaptability to changing priorities and conditions, and hands-on knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Perks of the Role
This position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional evening or weekend support for projects. You’ll have opportunities to travel up to 50% of the time, working with diverse teams across locations. As part of the role, you’ll participate in an on-call support rotation, with primary responsibility one week every 4-6 weeks, and engage in exciting special projects, rebuilds, and innovation initiatives.
Why Join Us?

You’ll have the chance to grow your skills, make meaningful contributions, and collaborate with a team of forward-thinkers.
