Traveling Dental Assistant - Orthodontics

Summary:The  Traveling Dental Assistant supports dental/orthodontics care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. This position will mainly focus on taking x-rays/photos and maintaining orthodontic patient records. 

Pay Range: $16.00-$20.43/hr (based on experience)

This is a traveling position and applicants must be willing to go to our San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Victorville, and Glendora offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

• Assists the doctor in orthodontic procedures 
• Takes x-rays 
• Takes IO's 
• Take Orthodontic records and photo's
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth 
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene 

• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor 
• Sterilizes instruments 
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene 
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor 

Education and/or Experience:  

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred 

Required Certificates or Licences:  

• X-Ray certification  
• BLS certification  

• 8-hour Infection Control certification 
• 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification
