We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Permanent Construction Superintendent with a strong background in industrial construction. This role will involve overseeing the planning, design, and construction of various industrial and commercial projects from the ground up, including manufacturing buildings. The ideal candidate will be adept at coordinating all stages of the construction process, ensuring that all works are carried out to the highest standard, on schedule, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the construction process, from initial planning and foundation work through to completion.
- Direct and supervise workers on the construction site to ensure all tasks are carried out safely and correctly.
- Coordinate and manage contractors, subcontractors, and staff, ensuring everyone is clear on their responsibilities and deadlines.
- Ensure all construction works comply with relevant building codes, safety laws, and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work, identifying any issues or delays and implementing solutions.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, providing updates on progress, costs, and any issues or delays.
- Manage project budget, ensuring all works are carried out within the allocated funds, and identifying opportunities for cost savings where possible.
- Resolve any disputes or problems that arise on-site quickly and professionally.
- Ensure a high standard of quality in all work carried out, striving for excellence in every project.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
- Proven experience in industrial construction, including ground-up construction and manufacturing buildings.
- Excellent knowledge of building codes, safety laws, and regulations.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to direct and supervise a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a range of professionals and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong budget management skills, with the ability to manage costs and identify opportunities for savings.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various construction sites as needed.
