Description:
The Rehab Team at Valley Regional Hospital (VRH) is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist mainly to perform bedside swallow evaluations and barium swallows when current SLP is not available. The primary responsibility of the Speech Language Pathologist is: to diagnose and treat individuals of all ages who have health-related conditions that limit their ability to perform functional activities which fall under the speech language pathology scope of practice. Responsible for administration and direct application of speech/language pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. Examines each individual and develops a plan of care using treatment techniques to restore or maximize function and slow or prevent decline following disease or injury. Coordinates, supervises, and delegates to supportive staff. Assures and maintains personal competency. Provides information related to departmental budget considerations in relationship to speech pathology needs for optimum patient care and service. Communicates the organization's vision within the rehab team and interactions with patients; aligns work efforts to support its fulfillment.
