ID: 52868021 Shift: 7AM to 7PM3 shift of 12 hour per dayEvery other weekend shift coverageHoliday coverage applicable Description: Job Registered Respiratory Therapist under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, Shift Supervisors, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.Essential Generic Job Functions (List in order of importance):-Providing respiratory therapy under medical direction, in the education, treatment, management, & diagnostic evaluation and care of patients in the hospital with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.-Performing Intubation assistance as well as Ventilator set-up & management.-Gathering all information necessary to properly evaluate the patient s needs, including patient specific disease education as well as testing and consultations with other health care professionals, as appropriate.-Developing a rapport and mutual respect with the patient/caregiver, as well as team members, to foster an optimum environment in support of goal achievement.-Provides and documents education to patients/caregivers based upon identified needs in an understandable manner.-Other duties and/or projects as assigned.-Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.-Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 5 lbs. and stands a minimum of 1 hour a day.-Contacts: Regular contact with medical personnel and its visitors.
