About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** D2 CV Telemetry **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend (EOW), First to Float **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years **License:** Required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS **Must-Have:** - Must have 2 full years of experience - Pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer, with a maximum of 2 attempts - Pass/Fail exam on the first day of orientation, focused on sterile field techniques **Job Description:** - 32-bed unit specializing in CV Telemetry - Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3-4 - Charge Nurse available with no patient assignments - Clinical Supervisor present in a management role - 1 Patient Care Technician per every 16 patients - Responsibilities include interpreting EKGs; centralized telemetry setup - No ventilator management required - Hospitalist available for rounds during the day and on-call at night - Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy (RT) available 24/7 - Floating to similar or lower acuity levels required - 2-day floor-specific orientation provided - Common patient diagnoses include post-cath lab, post-vascular procedures, day 2 CABG, and general telemetry - Medications to titrate down include Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine - No pediatric patients, ages 15 and older only - Charting system: Cerner - Weekend shifts rotate every other weekend - Navy scrub color required **Additional Notes:** - There is a cancellation policy allowing up to 3 cancellations per contract, which may involve full or partial shifts. The hospital may choose to compensate for full hours instead of canceling.
