About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Telemetry **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights; 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule; first to float, could float to a sister facility **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of recent experience, within the past 6 months, with a strong cardiac telemetry background **License:** Required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS **Must-Have:** - Ability to decrease cardiac drips as per physicians’ orders and parameters - Proficiency in reading and interpreting strips - Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer; will need to pass a SIM LAB on the first day of orientation **Job Description:** - Requires telemetry skills, caring primarily for ED hold patients who are waiting for placement on a unit - Responsible for a 1 to 4 patient ratio, focusing on more telemetry patients versus medical - Required to titrate drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone - Work alongside ED charge nurse with availability of ED patient care technicians - No ventilators on this unit - Rotational holiday requirement aligned with permanent staff - No on-call requirements - Floating to med/surg/telemetry/overflow units as needed - Self-scheduling may be available, subject to change - Required to wear navy scrubs as per dress code - Unit/department-specific orientation includes 2 shifts on med/surg/telemetry - May assist ED patients with vitals, IV starts, and medication administration - Will not be primary RN for ED patient assignments but may be required to assist - Maximum of 3 cancellations per contract by the hospital - Utilizes Cerner charting system Note: Orientation includes study guides and may involve floating between multiple facilities.
