About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Behavioral Health - Inpatient Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), 36 hours per week scheduled with a 24-hour/week guarantee Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours Experience: Minimum 2+ years of Behavioral Health Unit experience; Experience with Pediatric, Adolescent, and Adult Patients required; Recent travel experience preferred License: New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required Certifications: Current Nursys, BLS, and CPI certifications required; De-escalation training from Welle or CPI required as of 1/1/2024 Must-Have: EPIC experience is required; De-escalation training and experience with managing agitated patients; Candidate must have their own vehicle Job Description: - Provide comprehensive behavioral health care to adult and geriatric patients within an inpatient setting. - Manage a primary nursing model with an average RN to patient ratio of 1:9 (depending on census). - Engage with patients experiencing a full range of psychiatric illnesses during an average stay of 5-7 days. - Collaborate as part of the day staff team, composed of RNs, behavioral health technicians, a house-wide hospital supervisor, and an on-call psychiatrist. - Participate in every other weekend and holiday rotations as required. - Maintain reliability with no attendance concerns or call-outs. - Dress Code: Personal scrubs of any color (No designs or cartoons; No hoodies). - Non-billable orientation lasts 8 hours. - Ensure personal permanent address matches Driver License/State ID and will be validated during the compliance process. - Requested time off during the assignment must be noted at upload; no more than 5 days will be accepted. - Prepare to possibly cover either Christmas or New Year's holidays if needed.
