About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, Every Other Weekend Required, Holidays As Needed, On-call Required (not often) Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 Hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Clinical Pediatric experience and 2 years in PICU License: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license Certifications: BLS - AHA, PALS preferred Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of Clinical Pediatric experience and 2 years of PICU experience; BLS and PALS certifications Job Description: - Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care. - Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs. - Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. - Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments. - Initiate assessments based on patient problems or needs, physician medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework. - Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care. - Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities. - Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. - Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model. - Be willing to float as needed throughout the facility, including to Adult Units where RN will act as a Patient Care Technician (PCT). - Agency nurses are expected to float to Mother/Baby and Pediatric Emergency Department and may act solely as a resource nurse. Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Completion of a program from an accredited school of nursing is required. Language: Proficiency in English (read, write, speak)
