About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit (PCU) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 19:00-07:00 **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting **License:** Active nursing license in good standing (Compact if applicable) **Certifications:** BLS required, ACLS required, current NIH (must be certified annually) **Must-Have:** - Telemetry and EKG interpretation - Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention experience - Experience with cardiac and anti-arrhythmic IV infusions management and titration - CPap and BiPap management **Job Description:** - Manage patient ratios of 4:1 or 5:1 within a 46-bed unit - Work alongside Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, PCTs, Nurse Externs, and Unit Clerks with skill mix based on patient census - Utilize equipment such as GE Apex Pro Telemetry box, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, Baxter IV pumps, iMobile, Alaris PCA IV pump, Welch Allen Vitals machine, Glucometer - Document care using the Meditech Expanse system - Follow scheduling requirements, including every other weekend and three 12-hour shifts per week - Float to other units such as post-surgical med/surg or to PCU for tele overflow as needed - Maintain a focus on patient safety and care excellence in a facility that prioritizes a Patients First approach - Preferred experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, and blood transfusions - Perform procedures such as telemetry monitoring, paracentesis (physician led), BiPap, and therapeutic phlebotomy **Additional Information:** - Staff should wear navy blue or gray scrubs, avoiding royal blue - The unit encourages communication and teamwork through platforms like GroupMe - Recognized for exceptional teamwork and zero turnover since September 2022 - Supported by a director, manager, and clinical educator with excellent interdisciplinary communication and collaboration - Encourages staff feedback for workflow improvement and exceptional patient care
