About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Telemetry **Job Duration:** 13-week assignment **Shift:** 19:00-07:00 **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** Valid RN license **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale **Must-Have:** Cardiac knowledge preferred **Job Description:** - Work in a 30-bed telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 5-6:1. - Collaborate with unit clerks during the day, 2-3 PCTs day and night, nursing supervisors, and hospitalists. - Utilize equipment such as Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, and Philips Telemetry and MP2s. - Document using the Meditech-HCA version system. - Manage medications with WOW med drawers and PyxisES dispensing system. - Schedule will include the equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule). - May float to other M/S areas, including general MS, Ortho, PCU, and M/S surgical with oncology based on skill mix needs. - Engage in bedside and hourly rounding, reporting known needs to PCTs, and checking the department’s focus areas using the glass board and other available resources. - Must have advanced skills in Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips. - Perform unit procedures such as chest tube management, wound vac management, and ad lib EKGs. - Follow NO PASS ZONE policy for bed alarms, call lights, and IV alarms. - Adhere to dress code: RN in navy and CNA/PCT in ceil blue scrub set, with optional jacket. Shirts underneath may be white, blue, grey, or black, with no graphics. No artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish. - Shared Governance is available on the unit and facility. - Participate in a supportive environment with experienced charge nurses and opportunities for recognition through awards and nominations.
