About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Neuro Tele Stepdown **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend; First to float, with potential to float to sister facility **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of recent experience required **License:** License required upon submission **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** - Completion of Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance of a position (Maximum 2 attempts, no exceptions for a third attempt) - Pass/fail Sim Lab on the first day of orientation **Job Description:** - Work in a Cardiopulmonary Telemetry and Neuro unit with a focus on stepdown care. - Manage a unit with 26 beds and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-4. - Collaborate with a charge nurse and a manager who do not have patient assignments. - Work with Patient Care Technicians, with a ratio of 1 PCT per 13 patients. - Meet the weekend requirement of every other weekend. - Wear navy scrubs. - Interpret EKGs with centralized telemetry. - Provide care for patients requiring Airvo/High Flow vent support. - Work with hospitalists who round during the day and are on-call at night. - No IV team, but there is 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support. - Participate in 12-hour shifts from 7 to 7. - Attend a two-day floor-specific orientation. - Handle patients with common diagnoses like neuro, CVAs, pulmonary, and general telemetry. - Utilize Cerner for charting. - Adhere to cancellation policy: The hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract, for a full or partial shift. The hospital may also provide payment for full hours instead of cancellation.
