About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Stepdown - Cardiopulmonary Telemetry & Neuro **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to float; could float to sister facility **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** Required for submission **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** EKG monitoring, ability to interpret EKGs **Job Description:** - Work in a 30-bed Stepdown unit specializing in CHF Telemetry. - Perform dysrhythmia exams with a maximum of two attempts; a pass/fail Sim Lab is required on the first day of orientation. - Monitor and titrate drips, including cardiac, heparin, Lasix, and Bumex. - Collaborate with a charge nurse who does not take patient assignments and a manager. - Work alongside Patient Care Technicians at a ratio of 1 per 15 patients. - Utilize nasal cannula and BiPAP/CPAP for obstructive sleep apnea; no vents. - Operate within a centralized telemetry environment. - Engage in self-scheduling of 12-hour shifts, from 7 to 7. - Fulfill requirements for 2 major and 2 minor holidays, depending on contract dates. - Be prepared to float to any telemetry floor. - Follow a navy scrub color/dress code. - Complete 2 days of on-floor department-specific orientation. - Handle common diagnoses including CHF and general Telemetry, fluid overload, shortness of breath, arrhythmias, and ETOH. - Use the Cerner charting system. - Be aware of a possible cancellation policy of up to 3 times per contract. - Work in an acute care setting within a Level 1 Trauma Center.
