**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Operating Room Director **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** 8-Hour Days **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Must have experience working in an Operating Room as a Director **License:** Current RN license required **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, PALS; CNOR and TNCC are desirable **Must-Have:** Experience leading and managing perioperative services **Job Description:** - Design and implement care and coordination of surgical services, including Operating Room, Pre-operative, Post-Anesthesia Care, and Anesthesia services. - Responsible for planning and organizing activities to achieve quality metrics, exceptional patient outcomes, and engaged staff. - Oversee staffing, scheduling, education, regulatory, and compliance. - Develop and adhere to departmental standards, utilizing professional guidelines for evidence-based practices in Perioperative services. - Develop and implement departmental goals and standards consistent with the organization's mission, vision, and values. - Direct and evaluate departmental operations, utilizing benchmarking data for performance improvement. - Plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. - Manage departmental budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding; coordinate and direct audits. - Maintain staffing as volumes change and identify opportunities for process improvements. - Oversee program development, performance management, personnel activities, and the provision of services. - Demonstrate effective communication, consultation, negotiation, and collaboration skills. - Develop and empower management teams to lead daily operations and ensure high-quality patient care. - Act as a patient advocate while maintaining privacy and confidentiality. **Additional Requirements:** - Maintain confidentiality and positive patient relations. - Interact continuously with patients, family members, Medical Staff members, and other department managers. - Follow aseptic procedures and precautions during direct patient contact. - Teach patients both pre- and post-operation. - Adhere to safety guidelines and policies. **Professional Expectations:** - Follow dress code and act professionally to maintain credibility within the community. - Demonstrate professionalism through words, actions, and attitude. - Provide quality patient care and program leadership through dependable activities. - Support teamwork and resolve conflicts according to hospital policy. - Maintain clear and accurate communication. - Adhere to universal precautions and use of PPE to ensure safety. - Maintain confidentiality of all information.
