About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Oncology Job Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Compact or applicable state license in hand Certifications: BCLS required, ACLS and ONS preferred Must-Have: Epic experience, COVID-19 and Flu vaccines (medical/religious exemptions only) Job Description: - The unit accepts first-time travelers. - Handle patient diagnoses involving hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant, and gynecology-oncology surgical patients. - Seven beds are part of a positive pressure wing dedicated to bone marrow transplant and severe leukemic patients. - Perform special procedures such as bedside CVC placement and bone marrow biopsies. - Use special equipment, including Alaris IV pumps integrated with EPIC, barcode scanning for patients and meds, SCD machines, and Alaris feeding pumps. - Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. - Float requirement is necessary. - Attend an 8-hour orientation session. Additional Information: - Facility does not accept local travelers; applicants must reside over 65 miles away. - References are required for clearance to start the contract, with 2 Manager/Supervisor references needed. - Orientation is held 5 days a week. - Specific certifications are required for specialized nursing areas. - Previous staff must be separated for a full year before returning as a traveler.
