About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Profession:** Nursing **Specialty:** Advanced Care/Med Surg **Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Nights **Hours per Shift:** 12 Hours **Experience:** Minimum 1 Year of relevant nursing experience **License:** State RN License in good standing **Certifications:** BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association) **Must-Have:** Med/Surg, Travel Experience, ACLS, BLS (CPR), Stepdown experience **Description:** The staff RN is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Provides care to patients using nursing processes, trends, technologies, and resources in line with the institution's philosophy. Performs responsibilities specific to the unit's scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to their practice area. Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care to integrate information for the healthcare team's use. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops a care plan based on patient and family needs. Implements and modifies care plans, interventions, and procedures as necessary. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by addressing safety hazards and incidents. Communicates effectively with others and resolves issues privately when necessary. Offers constructive feedback for peer development and collaborates to expand knowledge. Identifies personal learning needs and seeks solutions proactively. Meets all departmental competency requirements. Ensures good communication with patients and families through hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and using whiteboards. Works with critical care teams for ICU-lite patients and with hospitalists for advanced care patients.
